About me

I've been quilting since 2006, when a friend introduced me to scrapbook quilting. At the time, I was really into scrapbooking, but the moment I started working with fabric, I knew I'd found my medium. There's something about the texture, the colors, the way pieces come together—I didn't want to create with anything else.

For years, I dreamed of owning a longarm machine. I wanted to understand the full process, to have control over that final step that transforms a pieced top into a finished quilt. In 2021, I made that dream a reality and bought my first longarm machine. It's been an incredible journey of learning and growth ever since.

Recently, I upgraded to a Bernina Q24 with the Qmatic computerized system, and I'm excited about what this technology can do. The precision and consistency it brings to edge-to-edge quilting means I can offer reliable, beautiful finishes—and I'm continuing to learn so I can eventually offer more customized services, too.

Why Longarm Quilting Services?

Honestly? I want to do what I love and make it sustainable. Longarm quilting lets me pay for my hobby while contributing to the quilting community in a meaningful way. Since 2021, I've quilted eight quilts for charity organizations like Quilts of Valor and GSAFE's annual Quilt and Fiber Arts Auction. Being able to donate my time and skills to causes that matter is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Offering longarm services means I can keep creating, keep learning, and keep giving back—all while helping other quilters finish their projects with care and precision.

Design is in the Details

I don't have formal design training, but I've always had an eye for it. I love clean lines, modern aesthetics, and thoughtful composition. That design sensibility shows up in everything I do at Farver Designs—from the patterns I create to the way I approach quilting.

That said, I deeply respect quilting's rich traditions. While my personal style leans modern, I recognize and honor the way traditional quilts are quilted—the motifs, the techniques, the history behind them. Whether your quilt is contemporary or classic, I approach it with an understanding of what makes it special.

Right now, I'm also learning surface pattern design so I can eventually design my own fabrics. The creative possibilities are endless, and I'm excited to see where that path leads.

What You Can Expect

When you work with Farver Designs, you're working with someone who genuinely cares about your quilt. I know how much time, thought, and love goes into piecing a top, and I treat every project with the respect it deserves.

You'll get clear communication, transparent pricing, and a reliable 2-3 week turnaround. Whether you're local or mailing in your quilt from across the country, I'm here to give your work the beautiful finish it deserves.

Thanks for being here. I can't wait to work with you.
